The Hero with a Thousand Faces

So over on RPG.net, I tripped across a very interesting idea: making a PC for every game I own – from the games I grab and play every day to the ones I haven’t picked up in years. Since I’ve been looking for a gaming project to keep myself entertained for awhile and my last couple of attempts at finding such a project have fizzled out, I thought I’d give this one a try.

So here are the rules:
• I’m going in approximate alphabetical order. (I’m not gonna sweat it if I skip one, though, as long as I come back to it, and I’m not cataloguing everything right off to make sure I have them in the right order.)
• If a game system has several main “splats” or settings, I will do one for each (i.e., Eberron/Greyhawk, Solars/Lunars/DBs, etc.).
• If I have two or more editions of a game, I will treat them as different games or not depending on my feel for the changes the game makes from one edition to the next.
• I will try to make actual, functioning characters – including at least a basic character background, if possible.
• I’m going to try to post a character a day.

Okay, so the first game on the list in alphabetical order is Aberrant.

Desmond Ailes was once a fairly ordinary hacker, committing cybercrimes for fun and profit, skipping college because the life of a data cowboy was so much more glamorous. He was talented, creative, and smart - though he was largely self-taught, there were few hackers his age who could outmatch him. The Secret Service and FBI could never track him down; private contractors fared no better.

Eventually, however, Desmond met his match, when he attempted to hack the Project Utopia secured files. In a marathon programming and hacking session, Desmond found himself slipping into a kind of hallucination, where the world itself turned into numbers that he could touch, manipulate, and corrupt.

Desmond Ailes has seen the shape of the Universe, and it is data.

Now he uses that knowledge to change the way the world itself functions. He can corrupt the function of machines and even people by adding faulty "code" into the fabric of existence. He can sense and interact with machines from some distance away. And wherever he goes, he sees the twinkle of flickering code glittering behind the facade of ordinary reality...

Tomorrow's character will be Adventure!, but the one after that's going to require a little help from the audience. If you'd be so kind, would those of you reading this post a reply with 4 numbers, 3 of which should be between 0-50 and a 4th that is between 0-75? They can be in any order, but they're key to the character creation system I'll be using for Thursday's post...

It's funny, your PC reminds me of Drummer, from Planetary, for some reason. :)

Your numbers:

1-50: 7, 15, 33
1-75: 60

I love the concept of reality hacker, is that part of the system? And I like the Anima banner with computer symbols.

Numbers,

Not really - that's just how I'm spinning the powers he does have. Aberrant is a nontraditional supers game; it's not as effects-based as some systems, but they do suggest several places taking the powers they give and using their effects with different "special FX" to make "new" powers - in this case, his Luck and Probability Control are how I envision his Reality Hacking working...
